The Best Wedding Budget for under $10

I like to think that I’m doing a lot of the heavy lifting for you when it comes to planning your wedding and I actually already supply a budget tool to all my couples when they book me, however I feel I’ve found the ultimate budget tool to help you through the process of putting your wedding together. This Google Sheets budget is the best I’ve ever seen (and I’ve seen a bunch of them), but it is also so much more than a wedding budget. And the best thing is Google Sheets is free to use.

Let me take you on a tour of it and then you decide.

First, let’s talk about the budget tab. It is simply superb. It shows you a dashboard (see image below) that shows how much you’ve spent, how much you’re planning to spend and breaks it down into 15 categories like bride attire, groom attire, rings, stationery, beauty/grooming, transport, photography & videography, flowers, reception and even the honeymoon.

It includes just about everything you would need to purchase, plus there’s room for you to add items into each category. You can even keep track of when payments are due and all your vendor information.

However, that’s just the beginning. This Google Spreadsheet has another 10 or more tabs on it to help ease the pressure of putting your dream wedding together. Let’s take a look:

  • Guest List - the most comprehensive guest list tracker I have ever seen. Add in names of your guests, along with their address details and you can track when you sent them save the dates, invitations, their rsvp info, assign them a table, keep track of their dietary requirements and you can even keep track of any presents or cash they give you on the big day so that you can say thanks afterwards. It truly is sensational.

  • Seating Plan - once you have assigned guests tables, it automatically populates another tab with who is on which table and whether there are any more spots for people. All this at a glance on a tab that you don’t even have to create - it happens automatically.

  • Wedding Checklist - the ultimate wedding checklist that starts from 12-18 months out. You just tick off the tasks as you go so at any time you know what you’re up to and whether you’ve missed anything - and once again you can add ay tasks to the list that you want (although you’ll be hard pressed to find one that’s not already there).

  • Wedding Day Itinerary - there is already an example in the kit, but you can create your own from scratch or just adjust the one that is already in there.

  • Emergency Kit - there’s even a list of things to remember to pack for your wedding day. Just tick them off as you go and they will automatically be crossed out.

  • Stationery Checklist - every piece of stationery you could ever think of for a wedding in on the list. You just choose which items you want to have and mark them off as you order them. A great reminder so that you don’t miss anything.

  • Ideas - there’s a page for you to keep ideas that you see or hear of that you’d like to look at doing on your wedding day

  • Research Comparisons - there are several tabs for you to use in the initial stages of your wedding planning when you’re talking to wedding venues, photographers, videographers and florists to compare the different choices up against each other so that you can make the right decision on who you go with. This is one of the best features of the spreadsheet. Take a look.

As you can see, it is choc full of good tools that will help you in the process of planing your big day. I have not seen one that is comparable. It’s out in a field on its own. And no, i’m not getting paid to say that, or even a kick back if you buy one.

If you feel you could do with some help on this front, then check them out here on Etsy. You can get it for under $10.

NOTE: For those of you who don’t know, Google Sheets is free and you can access it if you have a Google account (which means even if you have a gmail email account, you’ve got a Google account - you just use your email as log in).
