Choosing The Right Celebrant For You
Unless you've already seen a celebrant in action at a friend's wedding who you thought would be the right fit for you, it's really important to take time to chat to a few celebrants before choosing one.
Most celebrants are chosen either by referrals from friends who have seen one in action or by the bride and groom themselves at a wedding. If you see one that you feel would work for you, then ask them for a business card after the wedding. Or go back to the bride afterwards and ask her for the celebrant's contact details.
The most important thing though is to meet 2 or 3 and see how you click with each one and what they provide as part of their service.

Here’s some questions you should ask any celebrants you meet;
What’s the process we will go through together? How many times will we need to meet?
How long will the ceremony be?
What can we do in the ceremony?
Can we have a rehearsal if we want before the wedding?
What legal paperwork needs to be completed?
Does your fee include everything? Are there extra travel or accommodation costs?
Do you require a deposit to book you?
When do we need to pay the entire fee?
Once you’ve decided on a celebrant, don’t leave the other ones you’ve met hanging. They may be holding off accepting other bookings for the same date. It’s just good courtesy to let them know. Don’t feel embarrassed about not choosing them, just let them know you’ve gone with somebody else, and if you feel like it, let them know why.
